The home team contacts the visiting team mid-week (Wednesday) to establish telephone contacts in case of last minute game cancellation due to bad weather. Communication by email is sufficient. However, in the event of no response to your email, a phone call is recommended.
Game day rosters are printed by each team from Youth Leagues for every game. A game day roster is given to the referee and opposing team prior to the start of the game. Game day rosters can be printed for each game at the beginning of the season. Teams would need to print updated game day rosters only in the event of their adding a new player.
The purpose of the orange and green cards is to give the center referee a document to report to BRCL and teams the official game score, red and yellow cards, and team sportsmanship including send offs. Orange and green cards are provided by BRCL for each team. Orange and green cards are mailed to member clubs soon after the publishing of the schedule. Clubs are responsible for distributing the orange and green cards to their teams.
Orange cards are produced for the home team only. The orange card is a self-address, stamped postcard and is given to the center referee before the start of the game. BRCL produces a label on each orange card stating specific game information. The orange card is completed by the referee. The referee is responsible for placing the orange card in the mail. The orange card serves as the official game report to BRCL.
The green card is similar to the orange card. However, team managers need to write game information (team names, game date, and team manager name) on the green card prior to the game. Each team gives their green card to the center referee prior to the start of the game. The referee completes the green card and gives the green card back to the respective team after the game. The green card serves as the game report to each team. The back of the green card has referee fees, ball size and game lengths for each age group.
Missing an orange or green card? Click on the missing orange card or green card and print your replacement card. Please write the specific game information on the orange card as well as provide the referee with a self addressed, stamped envelope so the referee can mail the orange card.
Referee fees are are paid to referees prior to the start of the game, but only to referees who are present. A center referee is not paid additional money in the event of an absent AR unless the home team's club has a specific agreement to pay their referees the additional fee. Visiting teams will not be expected to pay the additional fee. The back of the green card has referee fees, ball size, game lengths and minimum-number-of-players-needed-to-start-a-game for each age group.
Teams are to report red cards, yellow cards, coach ejections and send offs to the BRCL Administrator via email within 24 hours after the game. A player who receives a red card or two yellow cards in one game is suspended for their next BRCL match. A player who received four (4) yellow cards during the season will be suspended for their next BRCL match.
Game scores are reported by the teams via logging into their team schedule page. Game scores are to be reported by 8:00pm Tuesday after the weekend's games. Beginning March 2008, teams will be able to "Phone In" their game scores.
BRCL requires only one team to report the game score. As of January 15, 2008, BRCL requires the winning team to report the score. In the event of a tie, the home team is to report the score.
Team contacts established on a team schedule page can login to your team schedule page. A PIN is required to login.
