Blue Ridge Classic League
“Friendly” Policy
This policy was
voted on and approved by BRCL’s Board of Directors at
the September 7, 2004 meeting. This policy
will be updated as needed to comply with insurance coverage.
Policy:
Once the final
season schedule is posted, teams can fill vacant game dates with “friendlies.” Teams
are to contact the opposing team directly to schedule a friendly.
BRCL requires the following for “friendlies”:
- You may play friendlies
against teams registered with the VYSA or their respective state
association as these teams will have insurance. Teams registered with their state
association will have player passes.
- You will schedule referees for your
friendly by contacting your assignor
- BRCL league games take precedence over
friendlies.
BRCL reserves the right to cancel a friendly in order to reschedule
a BRCL regular season match, be it field availability or team
availability.
- Section 13 of the BRCL Rules and Procedures, BRCL
Standards of Conduct, applies to all Participants (Coaches, Team
Officials, Players, and Parents) of BRCL Teams participating in self-scheduled
friendlies, just as they would in a League
Scheduled game.
